GO!PHA (Global Organization for PHA) is a coalition of over 70 stakeholders that includes members, including material producers, brand owners, academic institutions, waste management organizations, start-ups, environmental foundations, and dedicated individuals.
We provide a collaborative platform for sharing knowledge about circular bio-based materials, connecting policymakers, industry leaders, and academics to facilitate the exchange of ideas and drive progress.
GO!PHA actively advocates for the formulation of supportive policies and targeted investments to accelerate the development and commercialization of bio-based, biodegradable, and compostable materials (BBMs).
Our network collaborates across the entire life cycle of these materials—from development to waste management—to foster sustainable solutions that benefit both people and the planet.
Our Policy & Advocacy Work Stream is centred around informing and educating stakeholders, including policymakers, worldwide to enable scientifically sound policies for a circular and sustainable economy; mitigating pollution, reducing greenhouse gases and promoting bio-based and biodegradable materials.
The Science, Systems & Programs Work Stream works on advancing the fundamental understanding of bio-based, biodegradable and compostable materials, products and systems across all scientific disciplines. This group also collects and converts scientific understanding into insights for the other work streams.
This work stream is all about building a strong community for internal and external stakeholders that seek connection and partnership. We create and disseminate valuable resources to raise awareness and deepen the understanding of bio-based and biodegradable materials in circular and sustainable systems.
