As the International Negotiating Committee (INC) convenes for its fifth and final meeting (INC-5.2) to shape the Global Plastics Treaty, GO!PHA reaffirms its commitment to enabling safe, science-based alternatives to conventional plastics.
This moment is pivotal. The decisions made at INC-5.2 will define the future framework for tackling plastic pollution and shaping sustainable materials policy for decades to come.
GO!PHA will be present at the UNCTAD-hosted pre-INC5.2 event, contributing to global dialogue on material criteria and safe innovation. We call on Member States and stakeholders to ensure that biobased and biodegradable materials (BBMs) are meaningfully integrated into treaty outcomes—grounded in science, health, and circularity.
